This new build in Mangawhai Village called for a landscape that complemented its sleek, modern architecture. Clad in warm Abodo timber, the garden design mirrors the strong lines of the house while maintaining a natural, inviting feel.
Key features include a Winter Gardenz Glasshouse with vegetable beds, a pathway and patio that blends into the lawn and fairy lights that add ambience for entertaining.
The planting palette blends native, exotic, and perennial species, surrounding a long, open lawn and a raised garden bed. Rusted steel fencing cleverly keeps the dog out of the existing stormwater swale, while smart screening conceals utilities, ensuring the garden feels seamless, uncluttered and calm.

How we made it happen:
Designed access routes and pathways around the property
Created a patio for entertaining, complete with fairy lights and an outdoor fireplace
Installed a steel fence to keep the dog out of the swale
Built a Winter Gardenz glasshouse and two 600mm-high vegetable beds
Layered greenery with pops of white and red to tie in with the client’s interior furnishings and artworks
Concealed utility areas, including water and gas tanks, with hedging
